Service Description
Empower yourself and your clients with our Live 25 CEU Dialectical Behavior Therapy training, hosted by Authentically You Counseling. Our seasoned professional staff, with years of experience, will teach you essential DBT skills and demonstrate how to integrate these techniques into your sessions with clients. Transform your therapeutic approach and make DBT a way of life for your clients, fostering healing and resilience . Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is built upon four primary pillars: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Distress Tolerance. The Four Modules of DBT: - Mindfulness: As the core of the program, mindfulness is integrated into every other module. It teaches individuals how to remain present and aware in the moment—on purpose and without judgment—to better understand their internal needs and experiences. - Distress Tolerance: This module focuses on "crisis survival skills." It provides tools to help individuals get through painful situations without making them worse when the circumstances cannot be immediately changed. - Emotion Regulation: These skills are designed to help individuals navigate intense feelings more effectively, reducing vulnerability to "emotional mind" and increasing positive emotional experiences. - Interpersonal Effectiveness: This section provides strategies for maintaining and nourishing healthy relationships, setting boundaries, and communicating needs clearly while preserving self-respect. DBT is an evidenced based practiced created by Marsha Linehan for people who are diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. However, DBT has been widely used for other symptoms with significant success, such as depression, anxiety, interpersonal struggles, worried thinking, suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, etc. Please note, this training is intended for clinical staff (including Master's level interns) to learn how to teach DBT skills to patients or clients.
